I want to sell our town-house in Durham in one day, so I don’t have to stress about keeping it clean and we won’t have to carry two mortgages.

A job for my husband who has been out of work since a “downsizing” in May 2007. Our future, and our kids’, pretty much depends on his finding work here in this state with the highest unemployment (near 10%) in the country.

I want the patience and wisdom from my mother and the tips on how to get through the next several holiday seasons when you have young kids who seem to want everything under the stars, age appropriate and not.

A short recession, a good experience for my boy at his first days of ski school, and better sleep for my girl.

Santa doesn’t have to deliver my Christmas wish on the 25th . . . but I would like to win a National Championship in men’s basketball.

I want to be as successful as the Carolina guy (the cute, super nice guy who used to hang out with my suitemate my frosh and sophomore years) who came in at #10 on last week’s Entertainment Weekly list of the Top 25 Smartest People in TV. Four behind Oprah and ahead of some household names like Jon Stewart and Simon Cowell.
If they ever start a list like that for SAHMs, I figure I’ve got it all locked up with my mad playdoh skillz and ability to outthink a three year old.

If it were last year, I’d be like a little kid whining for a Wii. But this year, I’d like the recession to end, to keep my job, for my friends & fmaily to keep their jobs, and while I’m being crazy, yes, world peace would rock.
I guess having Obama inaugurated will be an awesome belated present!

Good health all around sounds good to me! (And my laptop recently died, so a new one would be nice — but certainly not necessary!)

    Tregen:
Thank you for asking. He was an administrator in higher education. (He has a PhD.) Supposedly a recession-proof field, but his last employer was for-profit, and bottom-line decisions were made that entailed cutting staff. His age is working against him, but we can’t retire as we’re supporting two kids — a college freshman and a high school junior — so neither of us can afford to retire for 6-7 years. We can’t relocate because I have a great job with good benefits.

I guess santa has already been here. I can’t think of a thing – my family is healthy, we have plenty of work, a roof over our heads, food in the fridge and smiles on our faces. I feel pretty blessed by Santa or some other saint.
